Hello, and welcome to the Bleeding Souls Roleplaying Guide! Chances are, you've navigated your way over here via Bleeding Souls. This roleplaying guide is intended for roleplayers of Bleeding Souls only. Most of the information you'll find here centers on Bleeding Souls only, so if you're here via another roleplaying game, you might want to check with your game administrator before using this as gospel for anothre game.
If you're completely new to Bleeding Souls, you'll find this guide very helpful for getting accustomed to the wolves and werewolves at Bleeding Souls. You can find everything from information on creating a character to our specific type of werewolf, unique from any other type. Take a look around. There's a lot of information here, so don't feel pressured to read it all at once. Also, don't feel pressured to memorize everything—this guide is here for a reason, and it's not going anywhere! You can come back at any time to reference anything you're unsure of.
Let's start with the basics. What is roleplay? The dictionary definition of roleplay is "to assume or act out a particular role." Roleplay is, basically, assuming the form of a character, and writing as that character, in a certain setting. It's writing, but slightly more structured than simply writing freelance stories. Roleplaying is somewhat easier than writing a story—in roleplay, the main plot, setting, and many other aspects of the "story" have already been set. You control your character's destiny and your character's destiny alone, and this may make it easier for writers.
Roleplayers roleplay for many different reasons. Some people use it to expand upon pre-existing writing abilities. Some people do it for the ranks you can earn. Some people do it for the sheer joy of self-expression in an alternate personality. Some simply enjoy the out of character interaction, and the expanded world-view interacting with others from all across the globe can bring. Many enjoy the sense of community that a roleplaying game brings. It feels, often, if one enters a close-knit game, that one is entering a family group, where all opinions and expressions are welcome.
